ABOUT Bataka Pauva RECIPE

This is traditional Assamese first meal in Magh bihu

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Flattened rice 250 gram
  2. Potato 1 piece
  3. Peanuts 1 tablespoon
  4. Green chillies 2
  5. Whole red chili 1 piece
  6. Oil 2 teaspoons
  7. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. Salt 1 teaspoon
  9. Red pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  11. Tamarind water 2 teaspoons

Instructions

  1. Chopped green chilli and potato
  2. Soak flattened rice for 5 minutes
  3. Put a vok on medium heat adding oil
  4. Add mustard seeds, whole red chili ,green chilli and potato in it
  5. Add turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt
  6. Add soaked flattened rice and peanuts
  7. Mix well and add tamarind water
  8. Serve hot
