About Potato Fondant Recipe

Its a light yet yummy , fried and little spicy potatoes which gives a tasty flavour when eaten with a dip.

Potato Fondant

Ingredients to make Potato Fondant

  • 4 small potatoes
  • salt according to taste
  • Black pepper as per taste
  • Some crushed basil leaves
  • Paprika or chilli flakes can also be sprinkled bt i made it less spicy
  • oil for shallow fry.
  • For Dip: Mayonnaise - 2 tsp
  • 1 tsp - hung curd
  • Finely chopped green onions
  • Finely chopped some basil leaves
  • Black pepper to taste

How to make Potato Fondant

  1. Wash potatoes and peel them. Then cut them into big cubes.
  2. Now in a pan boil water with salt in it. When it comes to a boil put these potato cubes in for 4 minutes or more depending upon the size of the potatoes.
  3. After that keep them on a paper towel to dry.
  4. Now take a frying pan. Put small amount of oil and when the oil gets heated put the potatoes in it.
  5. Now fry the one side till golden brown.
  6. Then change the side upside down and add some butter along with some salt and pepper.
  7. Let the other side be golden brown. It does not take too much time. Only 3-4 minute each side.
  8. Now fry little bit from the sides too.
  9. Once done, keep the potatoes on a paper towel so that excess oil is absorbed.
  10. Take a plate and put all 4 cubes on it. Sprinkle some salt, pepper, chilli flakes and one crushed basil leaf.
  11. Prepare a dip by mixing mayonnaise and hung curd. Add black pepper and crushed basil leaves and mix it.
  12. The dish is ready to eat with the yummy dip.

My Tip:

Add oregano and other mix herbs as you wish. This can be grilled also.
