Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Brown bread 6 slices
  2. Onion 1 big finely chopped
  3. Minced garlic 1 teaspoon
  4. Italian pizza sauce 2 tablespoon
  5. Italian hot sauce 4 tablespoons
  6. Oregano dry 1 teaspoon
  7. Dried thyme 2 teaspoons
  8. Olive oil 3 tablespoons
  9. Lettuce chopped fistful
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. Water as required ( optional )

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan . Add 3 tablespoons olive oil .
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until aroma is released .
  3. Add the pizza sauce first and mix for a minute in olive oil .
  4. Then add the Italian hot sauce and mix completely .
  5. Add oregano and thyme .
  6. Allow the sauce to bubble up for a minute .
  7. Add water only if required to adjust saucy consistency . Shouldn’t be watery .
  8. When sauce looks oil oozing , simmer the flame to very low .
  9. Meantime , cut bread slices to bite sized pieces .
  10. Add the pieces to the sauce . Toss quickly and coat bread pieces with sauce .
  11. Roast the bread in sauce for 3 minutes in medium heat .
  12. The final outcome should be dry and not mushy .
  13. Add chopped lettuce .
  14. Toss quickly .
  15. Sprinkle little oregano.
  16. Bread Italiano is ready .
  17. Serve hot .
