ABOUT Deshi burger RECIPE

A miracle dish with Three common leftovers;Bread,Rice and chole masala. Tried with some interesting, innovative thoughts. Nicely tasted specially for the kids and as well as every food lover.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For Patties:
  2. 2 cups leftover chole masala
  3. 2-3 bread slices (leftover)
  4. 2 tbsps chopped coriander leaves
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  8. 2medium potatoes , boiled and peeled
  9. 1 medium onion chopped
  10. Oil 6-7 tbsps(for frying)
  11. 2tbsps cornflour
  12. For burger buns:
  13. 8-9 cups leftover rice
  14. Salt to taste
  15. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  16. 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  17. 1 tsp black pepper powder
  18. 5-6 tsps cornflour
  19. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  20. 7-8 tbsps oil (for frying)
  21. Other Ingredients:
  22. 2 medium on onions cut into rings
  23. 2 medium tomatoes cut into rings
  24. 7-8 blanch cabbage leaves
  25. 4 tbsps tomato ketchup
  26. 3-4 tbsp English mustard sauce


  1. For patties: Put the chole masala into the food processor and process it for a while.
  2. Then add broken bread slices and process .
  3. Now add sliced boil potatoes and process again.
  4. Now in a bowl take the mixture ; add chopped coriander leaves, chopped onion,red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and salt ; mix well.
  5. Shape the mixture into equal size patties.
  6. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan ,coat the patties with cornflour and shallow fry it.
  7. Fry it both sides ,till evenly done and crisp on both sides.
  8. For burger buns: Microwave the leftover rice for about a minute , smashed it slightly when hot ;add chilli powder, chilli flakes, pepper powder, cornflour and salt.
  9. Mix all the ingredients properly, flattened the mixture on a dish , shape it round with a glass.
  10. Heat oil, add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  11. Keep the oil aside ,use this for frying buns .
  12. In the same pan shallow fry the buns in medium heat on both sides to slightly brown
  13. In same way complete all the buns.
  14. Now on a plate put a rice bun ,then cabbage leaf ,a patty, onion and tomato rings , spread some sauces , lastly again a bun , serve it hot .
