Curd rice made with red rice (kerala matta rice)

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boiled Red rice - 1cup
  2. Curd - 1 cup
  3. Ginger - 1tsp
  4. Green chillies - 1
  5. Curry leaves - 1 string
  6. Corainder leaves - for garnishing
  7. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  8. Urad dhal - 1tsp
  9. Salt - as per the requirement
  10. Oil - 1tsp
  11. Pomegranate seeds - 1tsp


  1. Whisk the curd with salt and little water keep it aside.
  2. Heat a pan add oil,mustard seeds,urad dhal along with ginger,green chillies and curry leaves. Switch off the flame.
  3. Now add the curd in it..
  4. Mix the curd with boiled red rice.. (i used red rice kanji which was left over a day before and i kept that in refrigerator.. i changed that into curd rice..)
  5. Finally add corainder leaves and pomegranate seeds on the top.. enjoy the chill red curd rice with pickle...
