Chinese Plum Sauce

Ingredients to make Chinese Plum Sauce

  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1tsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 2-3 tsp brown sugar (the quantity depends on how sour the plums are)
  • 1-2 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 inch piece ginger
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 5 plums, seeded and sliced
  • 1tsp Chinese Sesame oil

How to make Chinese Plum Sauce

  1. Mix all ingredients in a pan and cook till they soften.
  2. Cool and blend using a hand mixer or chutney grinder. Serve as dip or use as a sauce.

My Tip:

The sauce compliments well, appetisers which have soft flavours. It can also be used to make fried rice.
