ABOUT Leftover Ghewer cake RECIPE

Ghewer is a very traditional sweets of Sawan maas/month. This is important sweet for Rakskabandhan. This is gifted by sister and brother. But if you have left over Ghewar or verity of ghewar than you can take twist to it with chocolate cake.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. One cup- Left over ghewar
  2. One cup- powder sugar or according to taste
  3. 1/2 cup semolina
  4. 1/4 cup biscuits - powdered /any type
  5. 1/4 cup coco powder
  6. 1/2 cutp Butter
  7. One cup milk- warm or as per requirement
  8. 1/2 tea spoon white vinager
  9. One tea spoon backing powder
  10. 1/2 tea spoon backing soda
  11. One tea spoon vanilla essence
  12. Water as per requirement

Instructions

  1. Take leftover ghewar and crumbled it. Soak in enough milk for 5 minutes or until smooth.
  2. Take 1/2 cup warm milk and add vinager. Keep aside for curdle.
  3. In a bowl add butter and sugar. Beat with beater until soft mix
  4. Add curdle milk in bowl and beat again for one minute
  5. Add vanilla essence and soft mix of ghewar. Mix with spetula with smooth hand until mix look equally without lumps.
  6. Now add semolina spoon by spoon.
  7. Better keep in thick consistency.
  8. If better looks runny than add one or two spoon refine all purpose flour or if looks thick than use water according to consistency.
  9. Leave better for 30 minutes
  10. Meanwhile ready cake tin with grease and dusting of flour
  11. After 30 minutes, Preheat over on 180 degree
  12. Add baking soda and baking powder in cake mix. Mix all ingredients very well.
  13. Mixture pour in cake tins.
  14. Set microwave on 160 degree and bake it for 30 minutes. Check with toothpick test.
  15. If required than bake for more than 10 minutes
  16. Keep for cooling.
  17. After cooling, garnish with favourite frosting or eat plain.
