Chickpea Cutlet | Chickpea patty | Kabuli channe ki tikki

Ingredients to make Chickpea Cutlet | Chickpea patty | Kabuli channe ki tikki

  • white chickpeas - 1 cup (soaked over night and dried)
  • potatoes, medium (boiled and peeled) - 2
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • capsicum, finely chopped - half
  • onion, finely chopped - half
  • green chilly, finely chopped - 2
  • coriander leaves, finely chopped - 2 tbsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • bread crumbs - 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for shallow frying

How to make Chickpea Cutlet | Chickpea patty | Kabuli channe ki tikki

  1. Grind the chickpeas coarsely.
  2. Add mashed potatoes, ginger garlic paste, baking powder, capsicum, onion, green chilly, coriander leaves, lemon juice, bread crumbs and salt. Mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape as you desire.
  4. Heat the oil in a flat pan and shallow fry the patty until both the sides are golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with the choice of your dip.

My Tip:

Dry the chickpea by placing on the kitchen towel for around 30 minutes. Peel the potatoes once they cool down. This way they will stay dry and wont turn mushy. You can also bake them at 220c for 20 minutes.
