Aloo Samosa

Ingredients to make Aloo Samosa

  • potatoes (boiled ) 3-4
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Whole coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves
  • green chilly 2-3
  • Garam masala pwdr 1/2 tsp
  • For the Dough :
  • maida 3-4 tbsp
  • ghee 1 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • curd 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds a pinch
  • Ajwain a pinch
  • Soda bicarbonate a pinch

How to make Aloo Samosa

  1. Roughly mash the boiled potatoes
  2. Dry roast the cumin and coriander seeds till the aroma comes and then grind in a blender.
  3. Mix all the ingredients into the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the dough together and make a soft and smooth dough by adding water.
  5. Keep it aside for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Take a small ball of dough and roll out a chapati with the help of a rolling pin.
  7. Cut it into two halves and make semicircle shape.
  8. Roll them properly into a cone shape, fill in the potato mix and seal with water forming the shape of a samosa.
  9. Prepare samosas with the rest of the dough.
  10. In a pan heat oil and deep fry the samosas until golden from both sides.
  11. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.

My Tip:

Dough shud be soft enough or the samosa's will not be crispy.
