About Raswale Alu Tamatar Recipe

Its a simple alu dish made with fresh ripe tomatoes that go well with rice , Pooris n paranthas.. An all time favourite of all indians.

Raswale Alu Tamatar

Ingredients to make Raswale Alu Tamatar

  • tomatoes - 1/2 kgs
  • potatoes - 9-10 boiled
  • Green chilli - 5-6 no.s
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • cilantro - 1/2 cup
  • Heeng - a large pinch
  • salt to taste
  • Red chili powder to
  • taste.
  • coriander powder -
  • 2 tbsp.
  • turmeric powder -
  • 1/3 tsp.
  • Sabut jeera - 1 tsp
  • jeera powder- 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1/4 tsp (optio
  • nal).
  • curry leaves (optional
  • mustard oil - 1 tbsp

How to make Raswale Alu Tamatar

  1. Heat mustard oil in a

  3. Add heeng , jeera
  4. sabut ,
  5. Add tej patta n add
  6. Dry masalas..
  7. Now add the boiled
  8. potatoes slightly
  9. mashed...
  10. Add enough water to
  11. make the Rasa..
  12. Now let it bowl .. After
  13. 5 minutes of boiling
  14. add tomatoes
  15. (pureed)..
  16. Now let the potatoes
  17. get cooked for about
  18. 10 - 15 minutes on
  19. slow flame...
  20. Add green chillies..
  21. Add sugar if you like..
  22. Check spices n salt n
  23. make adjustments a
  24. accordingly...
  25. Garnish with cilantro
  26. N jullined ginger..
  27. Your dish is ready to
  28. be served....

My Tip:

If you wish you can add few chopped tomatoes too...
