Ingredients to make Crispy dates fry

  • dates – 20-25 no.s (any variety that is less juicy )
  • Almonds – no. same as that of he no.of dates used(soaked for about 3 hours or blanched)
  • Maida/all purpose flour – ¾ cup
  • semolina/Rava – 2 tbsp
  • sugar – 2 tbsp
  • cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
  • Oil /ghee – For frying

How to make Crispy dates fry

  1. De seed dates and stuff each one with almond. Press firmly so that dates regain its shape.
  2. Make a batter with maida, semolina, sugar and cardamom. (The batter must be neither too thick nor too thin i.e just thick enough to coat the dates)
  3. Coat each date in the prepared batter.
  4. Heat oil/ghee and deep fry dates.(When you fry make sure that it doesn't stick to each other. Carefully drop in one after the other.)

My Tip:

Use an appe pan and drop in each batter coated date in each hole of the pan.
