Tangy rice

Ingredients to make Tangy rice

  • rice -1 cup
  • garlic -7 -8 nos
  • ginger -small piece
  • onions -2 medium
  • tomatoes -4 medium
  • peas -handfull
  • capsicum - 1 no
  • green chillies - 6-7
  • cumin seeds -1 tsp
  • dalchini - small piece
  • salt - to taste
  • red chilli powder -2tsp
  • turmeric powder -1tsp
  • mustard oil -3 tbsp
  • coriander powder -1 tsp
  • coriander leaves to Garnish
  • Water -doubled the rice

How to make Tangy rice

  1. soak rice for half an hour.
  2. chopped garlic ginger and green chillies
  3. blend tomatoes made into a puree
  4. cut onions and Capsicum
  5. heat oil in a kadai
  6. add Jeera
  7. Add dalchini
  8. then add chopped ginger garlic
  9. Saute on medium flame until slightly aromatic
  10. add onion Saute for 2-3 minutes
  11. Add tomato puree, green chillies mix well .Saute for few mins
  12. Add peas,capsicum
  13. Add all dry ingredients. Mix well
  14. Add soaked rice after properly washed.
  15. Add water doubled the rice and cover it.
  16. Let it cook on medium flame for 8-10 mins.
  17. turn off the gas when it is cooked.
  18. garnish with coriander leaves
  19. Serve hot with green chutney and curd

My Tip:

Add any vegetables according to your taste
