Palak dal (no onion garlic)

Ingredients to make Palak dal (no onion garlic)

  • palak - 250 gms
  • chana dal - 1 cup
  • water - 2 cup for cooking
  • haldi - 1tspn
  • chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
  • rock salt
  • tamarind paste - 1/4 cup
  • tomatoes - 1
  • bay leaf - 1
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tspn
  • Red chilli - 1
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tspn

How to make Palak dal (no onion garlic)

  1. SOAK CHANA DAL FOR 1/2 HOUR
  2. PUT SOME IMLI IN WATER FOR SOAKING
  3. NOW TAKE THE SOAKED CHANA DAL IN PRESSURE COOKER, ADD WATER
  4. ADD CHOPPED PALAK, HALDI, CHILLI POWDER AND ROCK SALT
  5. ADD THE TAMARIND PUREE AND ALLOW 2 TO 3 WHISTLES
  6. HEAT OIL, ADD BAY LEAF, CUMIN SEEDS, RED CHILLI
  7. WHEN THEY SPLUTTER, ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES AND SAUTE
  8. ADD GARAM MASALA, COOK TILL TOMATOES BECOME TENDER
  9. ADD THE COOKED PALAK DAL
  10. COOK FOR 5 MIN ON HIGH FLAME.
