ABOUT Prawns khal khal Phannupkar (Prawns Chilli) RECIPE

It's a prawn spicy curry, my mom's signature dish, which she learnt from my granny.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Prawns 2 cups
  2. tomatoes 2 medium sized
  3. garlic 2 tbsp
  4. oil
  5. chilli powder 2 tbsp
  6. tamarind juice 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Fry and grind about 10 bedagi chilles ( you can use chilli powder too), some guntur chilles to a fine paste along with some salt, tamarind, 2-3 garlic flakes.
  2. In a kadai, take some coconut oil, fry about 10 peeled and crushd garlic flakes. When it turns light pink add 2 finely cut tomatoes and fry in oil till the tomatoes are pulpy.
  3. Add the ground chilli paste, fry in oil for sometime, lastly add the cooked prawns and adjust the consistency according to your taste. Simmer for some time.
  4. It goes well with boiled rice, neer dosa and phulkas.
