Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 whole Tender coconut
  2. 3 big size tomatoes
  3. 1 cup shredded spring onions
  4. 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder
  5. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  7. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  8. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  9. salt to taste
  10. water for consistency


  1. wash and cut tomatoes to small size cubes
  2. wash spring onions and cut them into small portions
  3. divide the green sprigs and white bulb parts into two different bowls
  4. In a handi/ wok , pour oil and let it heat ( may add 1/4 tsp jeera-optional)
  5. Now add the white bulb shreds of spring onions and add ginger garlic paste
  6. once they start to cook, add tomatoes, turmeric, dhaniya powder, red chilli powder and cook till done
  7. Meanwhile,Cut the tender coconut into small pieces and grind to form a paste, make it further soft by adding enough water
  8. Once the gravy is done, add 1 cup of coconut paste to the curry, add salt according to your taste
  9. Now add water to adjust the consistency ( depending on what is to served Rice/ Biryani/ Chapati)
  10. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes and serve hot
