Ingredients to make Bharwan Tamatar

  • Red tomatoes big sized 6
  • 1 cauliflower small sized, cut into small pieces
  • ginger-Garlic crushed 1 tbsp
  • 2 onions small sized, chopped
  • 1 potato, chopped
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • coriander powder 3 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • sugar 2 tsp
  • coriander leaves for garnishing {optional}

How to make Bharwan Tamatar

  1. Take the fresh red tomatoes, after washing them, with the help of a peeler, from one end of the tomato make a hole and take out the inner part of the tomatoes to prepare a puree of it. Keep the tomatoes for stuffing aside.
  2. In a pan add oil to heat then add in onion, ginger and garlic. Next add the chopped potato, cauliflower and tomato puree in it.
  3. Add in all the spices and salt, continue cooking till it is soft and completely cooked. When it becomes soft, add sugar in it. The stuffing is ready.
  4. Fill the stuffing in the tomato and cook the tomato with oil in a pan. The tomatoes should be cooked.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves. This dish is ready to be served with parathas and chapatis.

My Tip:

Exclude the sugar if you don't like sweet taste.
