ABOUT Makki Mooli Methi Puri RECIPE

Makki Mooli Methi Puri is a traditional Punjabi flatbread that is very popular during winters. It is made from maize flour mixed with shredded Mooli and Mrthi leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 n 1/2 cups Maize flour
  2. 1 cup shredded Mooli
  3. 2 cups Methi leaves
  4. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  5. 1/2 tsp ajwain
  6. salt to taste
  7. oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. take a bowl and add Maize flour
  2. add red chilli powder ajwain and salt
  3. then add grated Mooli and chopped Methi to the mixture
  4. add around 1 cup of lukewarm water in small increments to make a soft dough
  5. divide this dough into small equal portions
  6. Roll them on a rolling board applying oil on both sides whenever needed to help in rolling smoothly
  7. pick it carefully and slide through the edge in the work let them puff up on one side then turn them with a slotted spoon
  8. while frying to puff them either pour oil with a spoon over them while moving or press them slightly on all sides while rotating
  9. when they are golden brown on both sides drain them with slotted spoon in the wok and take them out in a paper lined plate.
  10. similarly make all the pooris and serve hot
  11. Enjoy these Makki Mooli Methi Pooris with aaloo sabji raita and green chutney
