Chadhei Leda

Ingredients to make Chadhei Leda

  • urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • rice-3/4 cup
  • Black pepper- 10 nos
  • salt to taste
  • jaggery- 1/2 cup
  • Desi ghee - 2 tbs
  • oil - for frying

How to make Chadhei Leda

  1. Urad dal, rice, pepper ,wash and soak in water for 3 hours .
  2. Drain it and grind it in a grinder using very little water to get smooth batter .
  3. Mix salt to taste.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai.
  5. Take some oil in palm, take small portions of the batter in hand ,flatten it little bit and with a small hole in the center .
  6. Fry it in oil till golden brown .
  7. Then keep aside alow it to cool down.
  8. Then cut it in to 5/6 slices .
  9. Take half cup of water in a kadai and heat it add jaggery and keep stirring constantly till is mixes properly.
  10. Now add bada strips/slices with ghee and keep cooking for 10 minutes non stop under slow flame till it turns sticky.
  11. Decorate with fresh tulsi leaves.
  12. Serve with cold or hot.

My Tip:

While having it allow it to melt inside your mouth..
