It’s a warm Red Chana chaat can be served as a starter for any party or any occasion.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cups boiled red chana
  2. salt and water for boiling the chana
  3. a teaspoon of oil for sautéing
  4. 1 cup tomato chopped
  5. 1 cup green capsicum chopped
  6. 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  7. 2 tablespoon julienned ginger
  8. 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies
  9. 1 teaspoon jeera powder
  10. 1 teaspoon black salt
  11. 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  12. 1 to 2teaspoon lemon juice
  13. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  14. 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  15. salt as per taste


  1. Soak the red chana overnight in enough water.
  2. Next day boil the Chana with little salt
  3. Drain the water out.
  4. Boil until soft and chewable but not mushy.
  5. Take very little oil in a pan.
  6. Sauté the boiled chana with a sprinkle of water
  7. Add the capsicum and onion and sauté well.
  8. Then add all the remaining ingredients except coriander.
  9. Adjust the taste as per.
  10. Garnish with coriander and some more ginger julienned.
  11. Serve hot.
