ABOUT Idli Burger & Spring Dosa RECIPE

:star2:It's not just another burger, it's one with a South Indian twist. The crusted patty is made from fried pieces of rice idli and smeared with a tangy chutney. Schezwan dosa is a Chinese twist on regular lentil dosa. Stir-fried vegetables, Szechwan sauce, and cooked noodles are stuffed inside the crispy shell. In other words, a dosa is rolled up with spicy Szechwan noodles and a thin layer of butter and Szechwan sauce is placed on the dosa. They are crunchy, colorful, flavorful, awesome, and biting into them is a heavenly experience!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients of Idli Burger
  2. 6 idlis
  3. 4 tsp mint and coriander chutney
  4. 3 thinly sliced tomato
  5. 3 thinly sliced onion
  6. 1 cup oil
  7. For cutlets: 2 cups of diced vegetables (peas, carrot and potatoes)
  8. 1 tsp maida
  9. a pinch of turmeric
  10. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. 1/2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  14. 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped
  15. Cheese slice (optional)
  16. Lettuce
  17. Salt to taste
  18. oil for shallow fry
  19. for schezwan noodles: Ingridients;
  20. 2 tsp oil
  21. 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  22. 3 stem spring onions finely chopped
  23. 1 small capsicum thinly sliced
  24. 1 carrot thinly shredded
  25. ½ cup cabbage thinly shredded
  26. 1 tbsp schezwan sauce
  27. 1 tsp soy sauce
  28. Salt to taste
  29. 1 tsp vinegar
  30. 1 cup rice noodles / maggie / any noodles cooked
  31. For dosa:
  32. 4 cup dosa batter
  33. 3 tbsp butter
  34. 3 tsp schezwan sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and fry idlis till golden brown. Make sure they're crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
  2. Apply chutney on each side of the idli.
  3. Boil diced vegetables till well done. Drain water and allow them to cool.
  4. Saute onion, add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Saute for a couple of minutes and then let it cool.
  5. Mash the vegetables and onion mixture. Add maida, coriander leaves and salt to taste, mix well.
  6. Make cutlets that are about the same size as the idlis. Shallow fry cutlets till golden brown.
  7. How to assemble burger - Place the cutlet and cheese slice in the middle, and then add onion and tomato slices,lettuce, in each side sandwiching the cutlet.
  8. schezwan noodles recipe:
  9. firstly, in a large kadai or wok heat oil.
  10. further add garlic and saute well.
  11. also add spring onions and continue to sauce.
  12. now add vegetables and saute for a minute or till they shrink slightly.
  13. additionally add salt, schezwan sauce, soy sauce and vinegar.
  14. also add cooked rice noodles or any noodles of your choice.
  15. mix gently without breaking the rice noodles and making sure the sauce has covered uniformly. keep aside.
  16. How to prepare schezwan noodle dosa or spring dosa:
  17. pour a ladleful of the dosa batter on it and spread it in a circular motion thin circle.
  18. add a dollop of butter add schezwan sauce and mix schezwan sauce and butter together and spread.
  19. also spread 2 tbsp of prepared schezwan noodles at one side.
  20. cook till the bottom of dosa turns golden brown.
  21. then roll the dosa along with noodles.
  22. finally, cut half schezwan noodle dosa or spring dosa and serve immediately with tomato sauce.
