These cupcakes are a fusion of cupcakes and gulabjamuns.It is easy to make and yummy to taste.All I can say is it's a DOUBLE DHAMAKA. I had found the cupcake recipe on social media but i made a few changes to arrive at a perfect texture and the fusion concept gave birth to these yummy cupcakes.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida. 1 n 1/2 cup
  2. Baking powder. 1 tsp
  3. Baking soda. 1/2 tsp
  4. Sugar. 3/4 th cup
  5. Cooking oil( odourless). 1/3 rd cup
  6. Salt. A pinch
  7. Milk/water. 2 tbsp if required
  8. Buttermilk. 3/4 cup ( 1/2 cup curd + 1/2 cup warer)
  9. Frosting:
  10. Whipping cream. 150 gms
  11. Gulabjamun syrup. 1 tbsp
  12. Crushed pistachios. 1 tsp


  1. Preheat oven at 150°c for 10 min.
  2. Sieve flour, Baking powder, baking soda 5 to 6 time and keep aside.Line the baking tray with cupcake liners.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar,oil and buttermilk.Using a hand mixer beat the mixture until the sugar dissolves well.Add 1 tbsp of gulab jamun syrup.
  4. Add flour to the oil mixture and mix well.
  5. Place a half cut gulab jamun in the centre of the mould,the flat side on the bottom.
  6. Pour the batter in the cupcake mould upto 3/4 th capacity and bake at 150°C for 18 to 20 min.
  7. Transfer to a wire rack and let them cool.
  8. Frosting: 150 gms whipping cream 1 tbsp. Gulab jamun infused syrup
  9. Beat the whipping cream with a hand mixer till stiff peaks.
  10. Fill it in an icing bag.Using 1 m nozzle to frost the cupcake.
  11. Decorate with mini gulab jamun and crushed pistachios.
