ABOUT Paneer Steak RECIPE

Fusion cuisine is one that combines elements of different culinary traditions. Cuisines of this type are not categorized according to any one particular cuisine style and have played a part in a number of innovations. Fusion food is a general term for the combination of various forms of cookery and comes in several forms. Festive seasons and parties are inseparable. My favourite recipe easy to cook, deliciously filling paneer maincourse recipe called Paneer Steak. So spark up your Christmas party with the goodness of Paneer and Veggies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Paneer Filling : 2-3 tsp olive oil (divided)
  2. 3-4 tsp Celery (chopped) (divided)
  3. 3 tsp Garlic paste (divided)
  4. 2-3 Finely Chopped Onion
  5. Red chilli sauce
  6. Italian pizza seasoning
  7. salt to taste
  8. 500g paneer cut into squares
  9. Bread Crumbs
  10. 3 tbsp all purpose flour (maida)
  11. 3 tbsp cornflour
  12. 1 tbsp cheese
  13. For Paprika sauce : 1 capsicum, cut lengthwise
  14. 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  15. 2 tbsp cheese
  16. 2 cups milk
  17. 2-3 tbsp red chilli flakes
  18. 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  19. For the veggies : 200g broccoli
  20. Carrot, Zucchini, Onion cut lengthwise
  21. 4 baby corn, sliced
  22. Mushrooms, sliced
  23. Few basil leaves
  24. 1/2 red bell pepper

Instructions

  1. Method : To make the Paneer Filling : In a pan, add the olive oil, garlic paste, finely chopped celery and finely chopped onion and saute it for a few seconds.
  2. Add the red chilli sauce and turn off the flame. Add the Italian pizza seasoning and salt and saute. Remove it in a bowl and let it cool down.
  3. To make the veggies : In the same pan, heat olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic paste, fresh celery, onion, bell pepper, baby corn and broccoli and cook them for a few minutes.
  4. Add salt, basil leaves, Italian pizza seasoning / mixed herbs, red chilli flakes and the mushrooms and cover the pan with a lid.
  5. Open the lid and add the ketchup, thinly sliced zucchini and carrot, mix well and let them cook for a minute.
  6. Once the zucchini and carrot are tender, get the pan off the flame. Remove the veggies in a plate and let them cool down.
  7. To Make the Sauce : In 2 cups of milk, add the cornflour and mix well.
  8. In a saucepan, heat little butter. Once the butter melts, add the capsicum and garlic paste and stir.
  9. Add the milk mixed with cornflour and keep stirring. Let it cook until the sauce becomes thick. Once the sauce thickens, turn off the flame.
  10. Add the basil leaves, grated cheese, salt, red chilli flakes and ketchup and stir well.
  11. To Make the Batter : In a bowl, add the all purpose flour and the cornflour.
  12. Add salt, pepper and water and mix well.
  13. To Make Paneer Steak : Take two big square-sized slices of paneer.
  14. Mix the onion filling with little grated cheese and layer it on the paneer. Cover it with the other paneer piece.
  15. Dip the paneer in the batter and then coat it with the bread crumbs. Make sure it is well sealed from all sides. Flash fry the paneer.
  16. To plate : Spread little sauce on the plate.
  17. Place the Paneer slab on the sauce. Top it up with the cooked veggies. Garnish it with a fresh basil leaf.
