ABOUT Gulkand cupcakes RECIPE

Gulkand is a sweet preserve of rose petals. Gulkand is considered to be good for digestion and has enormous other health benefits. I tried a fusion of this healthy ingredient with kids favorite cupcakes ,they ate it without any fuss.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the cupcakes
  2. 200 gm flour
  3. 1 tsp baking powder
  4. 1 tsp baking soda
  5. 100 gm milk powder
  6. 100 gm butter
  7. 100 gm sugar
  8. 1 1/4 cup milk
  9. 1 tsp cardamon powder
  10. 50 gm gulkand
  11. For the frosting
  12. 1 cup heavy cream
  13. 1/3 cup icing sugar
  14. 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  15. 2-3 drops red food colour
  16. Colourful sprinkles,for garnish


  1. Sift the flour,milk powder,baking powder and baking soda together and keep aside.
  2. Whisk the butter and sugar together till creamy .
  3. Whisk in the gulkand and cardamom powder.
  4. Fold the flour mix in the wet mix alternating with milk till a lump free mix is formed.
  5. Line the muffin tray with liners and fill the them till half.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 18-20 mins or until done.
  7. For the frosting ,whip the heavy cream with icing sugar,vanilla essence and red food colour till soft peaks are formed.
  8. After the cupcakes are cool,fill the frosting in a piping bag and frost the cupcakes .
  9. Use colourful sprinkles to garnish them and serve.
