ABOUT Sprouted Chana Potato Poha Locho.( My idea) RECIPE

" Locho" is a famous Surati recepie made with Chana daal . I have made my own "Locho" with Sprouted Chana, Poha and Potato and the innovative recepie has tasted extra ordinary.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Sprouted Chana 1/2 cup ( Cookef)
  2. Rice flakes 1 cup ( Washed and soaked)
  3. Potatoes boiled and grated 2 large
  4. Chana daal soaked and Cooked 1/4 cup / gram flour 3 5bsp
  5. Garlic crushed 1 tbsp
  6. Ginger grated 1 tbsp
  7. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp / green chilli paste 1 tsp
  8. Zeera roasted 1 tsp
  9. coriander powder 1 tbsp
  10. Curd 3 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste.
  12. Oil 1 tbsp
  13. For Seasoning
  14. oil 2 tbsp
  15. Asafoetida a big pinch
  16. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  17. Garlic cloves 4 to 5 ( chopped)
  18. Tuemeric 1/4 tsp
  19. FOR GARNISH
  20. Sev ( for Locho)/ Sev for sevusal 1 bowl
  21. Pomegranate seeds 1 / 2 bowl
  22. Roasted ground nuts 1/2 bowl
  23. Lemon 2 ( cut in cubes)
  24. Sesame oil 2 tbsp ( optional)
  25. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  26. For green chuteney
  27. Coriander leaves 1 bowl
  28. Green chillies 2
  29. Garlic cloves 6 no.
  30. Ginger crushed 1 tsp
  31. Roasted split chana daal 3 tbsp
  32. Grated coconut 2 tbsp
  33. Cumin 1 tsp
  34. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  35. Sugar 2 tsp
  36. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Blend Soaked Rice flakes with curd. Add water if needed
  2. Coarse grind cooked Chana.
  3. Grind ghana daal.
  4. Mix Poha mix , Chana and Chana daal.
  5. Add Potatoes.
  6. Add ginger, garlic and all masala mentioned.
  7. Add crushed Zeera too.
  8. Mix everything , cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  9. Blend all ingredients for green chutney.
  10. Make chutney, adjust taste . Keep aside.
  11. Heat water in steamer .
  12. Check the consistancy of Chana Poha mixture.
  13. It should be thicker than Pakoda mix and softer than roti dough.
  14. Heat 2 tbsp oil and add in it.
  15. Transfer in a plate for steaming
  16. Steam for 15 minutes. Cool little.
  17. Heat oil in a pan.
  18. Add asafetida, mustard seeds.
  19. Add chopped garlic. Add turmeric. Now add steamed mixture.
  20. Saute for 5 minutes.
  21. Cool completely. Your Locho 8s ready to serve.
  22. In a serving plate take a spoonful of Locho.
  23. Take all ingredients to add mentioned for serving. Take Coriander chutney too.
  24. Mix according to your taste.
  25. Add sesame oil before adding Sev.
  26. Mix nicely and enjoy your delicious breakfast.
  27. Adjust to your taste by adding Pomegranate seeds, lemon and green chutney.
