Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For poori
  2. 1 1/2 cups wheat flour
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tsp black pepper powder
  5. 1 tsp carrom seeds
  6. 1 tsp oil
  7. Water ,as required
  8. Oil,for frying
  9. For chhole
  10. 1/2 cup white chickpeas (chhole)
  11. 1 tea bag
  12. 1 tbsp oil
  13. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  14. 1 inch cinnamon piece
  15. 1 black cardamom
  16. 1 bay leaf
  17. 2-3 cloves
  18. 1 onion
  19. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  20. 1 tomato
  21. 1-2 green chillies
  22. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  23. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  24. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  25. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  26. Salt,to taste
  27. Water,as required

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the chickpeas overnight.
  2. To make poori,take flour,salt,black pepper powder,carrom seeds and oil in bowl.
  3. Make a dough with water and cover and keep aside.
  4. Boil the chickpeas in water with little salt and a tea bag.
  5. In another pan take oil,and add all the whole spices.
  6. Add onion and saute till brown.
  7. Add Ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off.
  8. Add tomato and salt and all dry spices.
  9. Cook till the tomato is soft and then add boiled chickpeas.
  10. Add more water to make slight gravy.
  11. Cook it for 4-5 mins till the gravy gets thick.
  12. Make small balls of dough and roll them out in little discs.
  13. Deep fry these on high flame and drain and keep aside .
  14. Serve hot poori with chhole.
