ABOUT DESIGNER BABY IDLI APPE RECIPE

Idli is very popular South Indian recipe and one of the very healthy and ideal breakfast recipe . But in my way it little bit design with some veggies and serve with coconut chutney. Idli is incredibly low in calories and is perfect for those who want to shed extra kilos :relaxed:

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice - 1 cup
  2. Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  3. Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Sesame oil -2 tablespoons
  6. Water as required
  7. Finely chopped some veggie ( I used carrots , cucumber , coriander leaves and tomato )

Instructions

  1. Wash rice and urad dal until the water runs clean and fenugreek seeds to rice . Soak it in water for 4 - 6 hours .
  2. Grind the rice dal mix pastes and whisk them well . Make sure that tha consistency is thick .
  3. Keep the batter in a warm place to ferment . Once the batter has risen add salt to it and whisk to mix it well .
  4. Grese a appe pan with oil and take 1 tablespoon of batter and fill the appe pan . Cover it and let it steam for 5 minutes .
  5. Now open the lid and set chopped veggies on the top of the idli and again cover the lid and cook for another 5 minutes .
  6. Switch off the flame and wait for another 5 minutes .
  7. Serve warm with yummy Coconut Chutney :relaxed:
