ABOUT Idli cheese Sandwich RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Idli batter 1/2 Kg
  2. 1 carrot finely chopped (optional)
  3. Salt as per taste
  4. 5 cheese slice (Britannia)
  5. Green mint chutney (Generally homemade)
  6. Lime mint red chilli chutney (Store bought)
  7. Oil 1 tbsp
  8. Butter 50 gms


  1. In the Idli batter add salt and finely chopped carrots. Grease an Idli maker and pour the batter in it. Steam for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove and cool these Idlis. Slit the Idlis into two halves.
  3. Cut out cheese circles with a small jar lid or a cookie cutter and keep in freezer for 2 minutes to harden.
  4. Butter the halves of Idli and apply green chutney on one side and keep cheese circles frozen.
  5. On the cheese circles drop slowly smear some tangy chutney.
  6. Close with the other circle of chutney Idli and form a sandwich. Enjoy as a snack or for breakfast.
