It is a famous Gujarati's traditional breakfast recipe. Its very healthy and test good with tea.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 bowl bajari atta
  2. 1 bowl chanadal atta
  3. 1 bowl gehu rava
  4. 2 bowl methi leaves chopped
  5. 2 tablespoon garlic chilli pest coresly grind
  6. 6 tablespoon oil
  7. 1 cup chaas
  8. 1 tablespoon sugar
  9. 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  10. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  11. 1 tablespoon corriendor powder
  12. 1/4 teaspoon soda bi carb
  13. Pinch of hing
  14. 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  15. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  16. 2 tablespoon sesame seeds


  1. Take bajari atta, chanadal atta, gehu rava in big bowl.
  2. Now add 3 tbspn oil, garlic chilli pest, pinch of hing, turmeric powder, 1 tbspn corriendor powder, sugar, chaas, slat and soda bi carb.mix all together.
  3. Now add water and make dough very soft. See in picture.
  4. Now take 5 minutes rest. In that time greese the chalni and use double boiler method to boil it.
  5. Now make cylindrical log of mixture and put in chalni. Steam for 15 minutes.
  6. After 15 minutes you got muthiya like below. Let it cool down from 5 minutes.
  7. After 5 minutes cut in thin round pieces.
  8. In kadai take 3 tablespoon oil. Add mustard seed, cumin seed and sesame seed. Add 1/2 tbspn corriendor powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt and add muthiya in kadai and mix it.
  9. Serve with chutney, sauce and tea.
