The Great Indian Crab

Ingredients to make The Great Indian Crab

  • coriander- a handful
  • Oil ( vegetable or olive oil )- 1 tablespoon
  • curry leaves- a handful
  • Black pepper powder- 1.5 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
  • ginger-Garlic paste- 2 teaspoon
  • salt as per taste ( 1 teaspoon)
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 kg Blue Crab

How to make The Great Indian Crab

  1. Wash the crabs and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan.
  3. Add Ginger-Garlic paste and mix and cook for 1 min on low flame.
  4. Add all the spices and salt and mix well on low flame.
  5. Add the coriander leaves and chopped tomatoes.
  6. Add a cup of water and mix well.
  7. Bring the mixture to boil on high flame for 1 min and lower the flame and cook for another 5 mins.
  8. Add the crab.
  9. Mix well and keep it for 5 mins on high flame then close the lid and keep it on low flame for 10 to 15 mins or until the colour of Crab changes from blue to brown.
  10. Add the curry leaves and mix.
  11. Switch off the flame.
  12. Garnish with coriander and leaves and fresh lime.
  13. Serve with hot naan.

My Tip:

While buying the crab choose large one's and keep the pieces big. Dont cut into small pieces.
