ABOUT Aloo parantha RECIPE

This is my mom's recipe of my favourite aloo parantha. The addition of fennel seeds and garam masala gives a lovely flavour to the paranthas.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For dough
  2. 1 cup wheat flour
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. Water,as required
  5. For filling
  6. 3 boiled potatoes
  7. 1 onion
  8. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  10. 1/2 tsp crushed fennel seeds
  11. Salt, to taste
  12. Coriander leaves
  13. Ghee or oil,for shallow frying


  1. Make a dough with wheat flour and salt and keep aside.
  2. Mash the potatoes and add chopped onion and coriander leaves.
  3. Add salt,crushed fennel seeds,red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
  4. Take a small ball of dough and fill in with the potato mix.
  5. Roll into paranthas and shallow fry on hot tawa.
  6. Serve with curd or pickle or as such.
