ABOUT Bamboo Shoot Soup RECIPE

Bamboo shoots are used widely across the Asian subcontinent, especially in adding an unique flavours in broths and soups. they go well with vegetarian and non vegetarian recipes. here is an easy soup recipe to try out this winter.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 300 grams cabbage , cut into 1 inch squares
  2. 25 grams sliced carrots
  3. 150 grams sliced mushrooms of your choice
  4. 100 grams sliced bamboo shoots
  5. 100 Grams Bean Sprouts
  6. Salt to season
  7. freshly crushed black pepper to season
  8. 1/4 th teaspoon msg or ajinomoto powder
  9. 2 cups of water
  10. 1 cup cornflour dissolved in 3 cups water
  11. 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  12. 2 tablespoon sesame or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a wok and add the carrots, mushroom and bamboo shoots and stir fry for 45 seconds
  2. then add the remaining vegetables. Stir fry again for 1 minute and add all the seasonings and mix well and add water.
  3. Once it comes to boil, add the corn starch solution.
  4. mix well and cook covered till the vegetables have softened
  5. after the soup reaches desired consistency, take off heat and transfer it to into serving bowls
  6. serve hot with your choice of breads
