An easy and healthy chutney...This is a bit thicker than the normal chutneys and can be had with rice and dal or rice gruel...

Gooseberry & Coconut chutney(Nellikya samandi)

Ingredients to make Gooseberry & Coconut chutney(Nellikya samandi)

  • Gooseberry- 3 to 4
  • Fresh Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • green chilly- 2(adjust to taste)
  • Small Baby onion- 4
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • salt to taste
  • water as per need

How to make Gooseberry & Coconut chutney(Nellikya samandi)

  1. Keep little water to boil....Wash the gooseberry/amla ..... put them in the water and let it boil for 5 minutes..Turn off the gas.
  2. Once it cools remove the seed and cut into thin slices
  3. Now put all the ingredients for the chutney in the mixer and grind it to a semi thick chutney with little water.
  4. Mix well and serve with rice and dal....
