Ingredients to make Kunafa / Knafeh

  • Kunafa dough - 1/2 packet
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Corn flour - 2 tsp
  • butter - 2 sticks
  • rose water - 2 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 and 1/2 cup
  • water - 1 cup
  • orange food colour - 2 tsp
  • green food colour - 2 tsp
  • Grated cheese - 1/2 cup

How to make Kunafa / Knafeh

  1. Prepare sugar syrup until sticky then add Lime Juice & rose water.
  2. Prepare pudding by boiling milk & corn flour whisking continously until thick.
  3. Rub the Kunafa dough into strands. Add melted butter and mix well in hands.
  4. Divide the quantity into two and add Orange colour in one and green colour on the other half. Mix well
  5. Add the orange colour to bottom of prepared baking pan.
  6. Pour pudding and spread well. Add cheese and layer it.
  7. Add green coloured strands and press gently.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes at 180 ° C in preheated oven.
  9. Once baked, invert and pour sugar syrup. Garnish with chopped nuts.

My Tip:

Pour condensed milk at top
