Ingredients to make Brownies

  • all purpose flour or maida 1 1/2 cup
  • Chocolate powder 1/2 cup
  • sugar or powdered sugar 3/4 cup
  • 3 eggs
  • Milk or buttermilk 1/2 cup
  • Oil or butter 1/2 cup
  • Baking Powder 1 Tsp
  • baking soda 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Chocolate bars (plain) 3-4

How to make Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade and set the timer for 40 minutes.
  2. Mix oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Sieve together flour, chocolate powder, baking soda and baking powder in order to remove any lumps.
  4. Melt the chocolate bars and set aside.
  5. Fold in the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
  6. While folding in the dry ingredients, keep adding milk or buttermilk in between to make sure that the batter is not too thick.
  7. Take a baking pan of your choice and either line it with butter paper or just grease it with some oil .
  8. Give the batter a final mix before pouring it in the pan .
  9. Bake the cake for about 30 mins or until you can see no more raw batter on a toothpick when pierced in the cake.
  10. Take the brownies out and let it sit until it cools down .
  11. Cut into pieces and enjoy the rich chocolaty brownies with your family .

My Tip:

Use oil instead of butter, buttermilk instead of milk. Preheat the oven for about 10 mins prior to putting in the cake. Use plain chocolate bars for a better taste.
