Classic Brownie

Ingredients to make Classic Brownie

  • all purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Cocoa Powder - 3/4 cup
  • Brown sugar - 11/2 cup, powdered
  • salt - a Pinch
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • eggs - 4
  • butter - 1 cup
  • walnuts - 1/4 cup, chopped

How to make Classic Brownie

  1. Line a 20 cm square baking tray with butter paper and preheat oven at 180 degree centigrade for 10 minutes.
  2. Sieve the flour with baking powder, salt and keep aside
  3. Take melted butter in another big bowl and add powdered sugar into it, mix well with electric or mechanical hand blender
  4. Add cocoa powder and mix well to avoid any lumps.
  5. Next goes in vanilla essence and eggs, one at a time. Beat the mixture in a clockwise motion
  6. Finally, add flour mixture and keep the batter ready. It should not have any lump.
  7. After that pour the batter in prepared pan and add chopped walnuts on top and use a spoon to put them little inside the batter.
  8. Bake it for 20 to 25 minutes at 180 degree centigrade. Allow it to cool and cut into square pieces.
  9. You can serve it with vanilla icecream.

My Tip:

After 20 minutes insert a toothpick inside the cake, if it comes out clean then your brownie is ready. Otherwise you might have to bake for few more minutes.
