ABOUT Nenthram Pazham Halwa (Kerala Banana Halwa) RECIPE

This is an easy and delicious halwa with nenthram pazham. You will be wondering how easy to make this halwa within 15 minutes. You will start with sauteing the riped banana pieces in ghee and then you have to add required sugar or jaggery. Healthy dessert for your kids.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 2 ripe nenthram pazham
  2. 1/2 cup Powdered Jaggery
  3. 5 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Take the ripe bananas and remove the outer skin. Chop them finely using a knife.
  2. Put the chopped bananas in a heavy bottomed kadai along with 2 tbsp ghee. Cook the bananas on medium heat, stirring frequently until the bananas are completely cooked. 
  3. When the bananas turn mushy add powdered jaggery. Add some more ghee and continue stirring the halwa continuously to prevent it from burning
  4. When the jaggery was incorporated well with the bananas and the ghee starts to leave from the sides of the kadai, turn off the heat. Keep it in the heat for a few more minutes and transfer it to a greased container.
