Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Suji/ Semolina 1 cup
  2. Thick curd 1 cup
  3. Water 1/3rd cup
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
  6. GREEN CHILLI 1 CHOPPED
  7. Eno salt 1 tsp
  8. Oil 1tsp + 2 tsp
  9. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  11. Sesame Seeds 1/2 tsp
  12. Curry leaves 10-12
  13. Green chilli 2 slit

Instructions

  1. Mix suji, curd, water, 1 tsp oil, salt, ginger paste and green chilli in a bowl.
  2. Heat water in a cooker for steaming. It should fill the vessel only 1 inch from base.
  3. Grease a 2 inch deep container with oil and keep in the cooker. Easy to pour batter into it; instead of placing it in.
  4. Add eno salt to the batter and quickly mix. Bubbles will appear. Wait for a few seconds. Now pour it into the container for steaming.
  5. Close the lid and remove the whistle of the cooker. Steam on high flame for 2 minutes and then on medium flame for 12 minutes.
  6. Remove and keep aside. Heat oil for vaghaar, add mustard seeds, next cumin , sesame seeds, curry leaves and slit chillies.
  7. Pour the vaghaar over the dhokla. Cool a little before cutting into pieces.
  8. Tastes great with or without chutney.
