ABOUT Surmai Fry RECIPE

One of the most loved fishes in India, Surmai is very tasty and fast to cook. Here is my first recipe on betterbutter :)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Surmai fish - 4 pieces
  2. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Red Chilli powder - 1-2 tablespoon
  4. Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  5. Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  6. Lemon juice- as per taste (optional)
  7. Salt- as per taste
  8. Oil- for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the fish pieces properly.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste to the fish pieces and coat it well. Then add in the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder.
  3. Coat the fish well with the masalas and marinate it for atleast 20 mins.
  4. Fry the fish on a hot tawa with oil in a medium flame.
  5. Enjoy it with dal chawal.
