Kanpur ki Malai chicken

Ingredients to make Kanpur ki Malai chicken

  • Marination for chicken
  • chicken 1 kg
  • curd 1 cup
  • cream 1/2 cup
  • ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  • red chilli powder 1tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1tsp
  • Black pepper powder 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Garam masala powder 1tsp
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • Gravy
  • Desi ghee 3 tbsp
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • onion 3
  • red chilli powder 1.5 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  • dhania powder 2tsp
  • curd 1/2 cup
  • Garam masala powder 1tsp
  • sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Milk 1 cup
  • tomato sauce 2tbsp
  • cream 1/2 cup
  • butter 100 gms
  • Kasoori methi 1 tbsp

How to make Kanpur ki Malai chicken

  1. Marinade chicken in marination overnight or at least 2 hours
  2. Boil chicken till dry and fry till golden in colour
  3. Heat ghee and oil in a Wok and add chopped onions and cook till golden
  4. Take it out and add sesame seeds and grind finely
  5. IN leftover ghee add the grinded masala and all the dry spices with ginger garlic paste
  6. Now add whipped curd and cook till it leaves oil
  7. Add tomato sauce,kasoori methi and butter
  8. Add boiled chicken in the gravy
  9. Add milk and water accordingly to adjust gravy
  10. Cook on low heat and after 15...20 minutes add whipped cream
  11. Serve with a little cream and butter as garnish

My Tip:

You can avoid so much butter if you desire
