ABOUT Balushahi RECIPE

A soft mouth melting delicious sweet dish.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 and 1/2 cup maida/flour
  2. 1/4 tsp baking soda
  3. 6 tbsp ghee
  4. 4 tbsp thick curd
  5. 2 cup sugar
  6. 1 cup water
  7. Few drops of food color (this is optional)
  8. Oil or ghee for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Sieve the maida/ flour and soda.
  2. Add the ghee and mix it with lightly with your hands till you get a crumble like texture. Now add curd and make a soft dough. (If needed add a little water.)
  3. Make small balls of this dough and press it in the middle with your finger.
  4. Heat the oil on a low-medium temperature and deep fry these balls till they turn golden brown in colour.
  5. Make the sugar syrup, then add these fried balls and let them soak for 15-20 mins in the syrup.
  6. Take them out in plate and garnish them with chopped pistachios.
