ABOUT Phirni RECIPE

A sweet dish made with coarsely grounded rice

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati rice- 2- tbsp
  2. Water- 1- 1/2cup
  3. Milk- 1- litre
  4. Sugar- 0- 1/4 cup
  5. Cardamom powder- 0- 1/4 tsp
  6. Safforn(soaked in milk)- 0- 2 tsp
  7. Dry fruits- 0- few

Instructions

  1. Firstly soak 2tbsp of basmati rice for 30mins
  2. Discard the water & blend the rice to coarse paste
  3. now in a pan boil 1 litre milk
  4. stir occasionally and simmer for 5 mins
  5. keep the flame low till milk thickens
  6. continuously keep stirring otherwise lumps will form
  7. now add rice paste
  8. keep stirring and boil the milk till rice gets completely cooked
  9. then add 1/4th cup sugar and 2tbsp safforn milk
  10. add cardamom powder and dry fruits
  11. mix well till milk thickens and get creamy
  12. serve chilled phirni with few strands of saffron
