Ingredients to make Lauki ke gatte (Bottle gourd)

  • besan - 1 cup
  • lauki 1/2, grated
  • red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • haldi - 1/2 tsp
  • oil as required
  • salt to taste
  • jeera 1/2 to 1 tsp
  • hing just a pinch
  • oil or Ghee as required
  • curd 1/2 cup
  • dhania leaf for garnish

How to make Lauki ke gatte (Bottle gourd)

  1. Take a bowl, add besan grated lauki, red chilli powder, 1 tsp oil and curd. Make a dough of it and prepare gatta and keep it for boiling. Boil for 5 minutes then keep aside and let it cool.
  2. Take red chilli powder, haldi, salt and 2 tsp of curd, make the paste for seasoning.
  3. Take a kadai, add ghee, hing, jeera then add the chilli haldi paste. Fry for a bit.
  4. Add the boiled gatte. Let it boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Garnish with dhania and serve hot.

My Tip:

You can add kasuri methi to it.
