Ingredients to make Samak Rice /White /Millet Dahi Bade

  • 1 bowl cooked samak rice/sama rice /white millet
  • 2 table spoon samak rice flour
  • 1 boiled and mashed potato
  • 1tablespoon ginger-chilli grated and chopped
  • 8 to 10 pieces of raisins
  • 1tea spoon rock salt /sendha namak
  • 1/2tea spoon black pepper powder/kali mirch powder
  • 1 bowl curd
  • 1 tea spoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rock salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 table spoon meethi saunth /chutney
  • 1 table spoon coriander chutney
  • Few seeds of pomegranate

How to make Samak Rice /White /Millet Dahi Bade

  1. Soak samak rice for at least 1/2 an hour in water. Then cook them with double quantity of water. Let them cool to room.temprature. Mix and mash rice ,rice flour, potato along with salt black pepper and ginger chilli .
  2. Make a thick but smooth batter just like dal bada.
  3. Fry lemon sized badas in hot oil on medium flame.
  4. If you want to have them like pakoras/snacks then fry till golden in colour.
  5. Otherwise take them off when get light golden colour from both sides.
  6. Whisk curd with sugar.
  7. Add salt and black pepper.
  8. Add badas.
  9. Arrange on a plate.
  10. Sprinkle meethi chutney and green chutney.
  11. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.

My Tip:

Fry badas on medium Flame in hot oil to get crispness and fluffyness.
