Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Whole Milk - 2 & 1/4 th cup (at room temp.)
  2. Cornflour - 2 tbsp
  3. Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
  4. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  5. Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp


  1. Take cornflour and cocoa powder in a bowl. Pour approx.1/2 the milk into this bowl. Whisk well till cornflour and cocoa powder dissolves into milk and form a slurry. Set this mixture aside.
  2. Take the remaining milk in a saucepan, turn on flame, add sugar and vanilla essence to this milk. Cook on medium heat till milk gets hot and steamy, approx. 5 mins.
  3. Place a strainer over the saucepan with hot milk, pour the cornflour and cocoa slurry through strainer. Using a wooden spoon push the cornflour and cocoa mix through strainer.
  4. Break any lumps and push them through strainer. Scrape up the underside of the strainer too.
  5. Whisk the pudding to blend well. Keep whisking till pudding boils. Let it boil till pudding thickens and gets glossy (approx.1 -2 mins).
  6. Turn off heat and taste, add more sugar if you want it sweeter.
  7. If you find pudding too thick, add little milk.
  8. Take 2 serving cups, fill each with water, pour out the water. This will wet the insides of the cups and prevent pudding from sticking to the insides of the cups.
  9. Now pour the hot pudding to the 2 wet cups.Place them in refrigerator to cool and set (about 1 hr).
  10. Garnish with roasted nuts, shaved chocolate or fresh fruits.
  11. Serve chilled.
