ABOUT Egg Set Uttappa RECIPE

A try on the very traditional uttapa, this dish is set on onion, tomatoes, carrots, capsicum and spices.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 grams dosa/uttapa dough
  2. 2 eggs each for each uttapa
  3. 2 big onions
  4. 3 big tomatoes
  5. 2 Carrots
  6. 2 capsicum
  7. 1-2 Green chillies
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2 tsp paprika
  10. 2 tsp pepper
  11. 1 tsp oregano sprinkle
  12. 100 grams butter
  13. 2-4 tbsp Oil


  1. Mix or beat the dough with spatula and add salt to taste.
  2. Chop all veggies finely and keep aside.
  3. Keep eggs at room temperature.
  4. Heat dosa tava and apply oil.
  5. Put uttapa consistency dough on tava.
  6. Now sprinkle the onions, veggies and tomatoes all over.
  7. Sprinkle all spices on the veggies.
  8. Break each egg on the veggies separately. Cover and cook on slow for five minutes.
  9. Remove cover and add some butter on top.
  10. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chilli sauce.
