Muglai Chicken

Ingredients to make Muglai Chicken

  • 500 gm chicken full legs
  • 1 tbsp Desi ghee
  • Paste of 3 onions
  • Puree of 3-4 tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp chicken masala
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 3-4 chopped green chillies
  • 1/4 tsp Kasturi methi powder
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1/4 tsp jeera
  • 1 dalchini stick
  • For Marination:
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/4 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • coriander leaves, chopped for garnishing

How to make Muglai Chicken

  1. Take chicken pieces and add all the ingredients for the marination. Keep aside.
  2. Take desi ghee in a karahi and add jeera, bay leaf, cloves, dalchini stick.
  3. Add onion paste and saute till golden brown.
  4. Now add all the dry spices and little water. Saute for a minute on low flame.
  5. Add the marinated chicken and saute for 9-10 minutes on low flame.
  6. Now add pureed tomatoes, green chillies and again saute for 7-8 minutes on low flame. Add kasturi methi powder.
  7. Add water and cover it. Cook till chicken is done.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with laccha parantha or naan.

My Tip:

Marinate chicken for at least 1/2 hour.
