ABOUT Whole Wheat Beet Cookies RECIPE

Colourfully healthy beet cookies were born out of my love for beets and wholegrains. I tried incorporating beets into a whole wheat cookie recipe and a new recipe was born.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 and 1/4 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
  2. 75 gms (¾ stick) butter at room temperature
  3. ¾ cup powdered sugar
  4. 3 tablespoons beetroot puree
  5. A pinch of salt


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C. Cover the baking tray with foil.
  2. Boil a medium size beetroot till just tender. Peel when cold and puree in a blender. Measure 3 tablespoons.
  3. Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Mix salt and beetroot puree.
  4. Add flour and mix with hands to get a soft dough.
  5. Take marble size balls of the dough and press between palms to get cookies of even thickness.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or till the edges just begin to turn golden.
  7. Remove from the oven. Spread them on wire rack to cool.

can i made in gass stove, i have no oven.u must reply.
