Ingredients to make Instant moong dal halwa

  • Yellow mung dal 1/3 cup
  • Desi ghee 1/2 cup or little more
  • sugar 1 cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Dry fruits chopped 1/4 cup
  • water 1/3 cup
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp

How to make Instant moong dal halwa

  1. Wash mung dal and spread on a cotton cloth for 30 mins in fan.
  2. Dry roast mung dal in a wok for 3 to 4 minutes till aroma comes.
  3. Let it cool, grind into coarse powder.
  4. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add grind dal and dry fruits, fry till nice fragrance comes and dal changes its color.
  5. At this point add cardamom powder, milk and water. Cover with lid.
  6. Give it one whistle on medium flame otherwise halwa can burn. Give it 3 minutes on sim flame. Switch off gas.
  7. Open the lid and add sugar, mix properly, strring continously till sugar dissolves and halwa leaves ghee from sides.
  8. Remove from flame and garnish with almonds and serve hot or cool.
