ABOUT Slow Cooker Brown Rice Jaggery Kheer RECIPE

A festive kheer which has the goodness of brown rice and unrefined jaggery, and literally makes itself in the slow cooker is a winner in my book!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Brown rice - 1/2 cup
  2. Milk - 4 cups
  3. Jaggery - 1/2 cup, grated
  4. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Almonds - 10
  6. Cashewnuts - 10
  7. Raisins - 12
  8. Dried rose petals - a few


  1. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker pot. Stir, close the lid and turn it ON on HIGH setting for 4 hours.
  2. If you like the kheer to be more thickened, crack open the lid and cook for 20 more minutes.
  3. Serve in festive glasses or bowls garnished with nuts, raisins and dried rose petals for a festive look.
