Ingredients to make Moong dal barfi

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1/2 cup crumbled mava
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Cup water
  • For garnish:-
  • 2 tbsp pistachio

How to make Moong dal barfi

  1. Clean, wash and soak the yellow moong dal for 1hours.
  2. Drain and blend in a mixer to a coarse paste without using water.
  3. Heat the ghee in a non-stick pan
  4. add the yellow moong dal paste
  5. On medium flame mix well and cook till it turns brown in Colour.
  6. Now add the mava in dal paste and cook continuously for 2 minutes.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.
  8. For sugar syrup:-
  9. On medium flame combine sugar and water in a bowl and cook it till one thread consistency
  10. Now add the sugar syrup to the moong dal mixture.
  11. and add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  12. Garnish with chopped pistachio
  13. and keep aside to set .
  14. Cut into pieces
